Music Studio Portrait 1/6 Plate. This captivating original 19th-century Victorian tintype (ferrotype) photograph presents a rare musical portrait depicting a woman standing with an acoustic guitar in a full studio setting complete with a carved pillar, backdrop drapery, and a side chair. Dating to circa 1890s based on her high-collared dress with puffed sleeves (leg-o'-mutton style), occupational and instrument-themed tintypes carry exceptional collector crossover interest among early photography enthusiasts, music historians, and folk art collectors. Unbranded/maker unknown, c. 1890s, wet-collodion process on lacquered iron plate, unmarked, measures approximately Sixth Plate size (2.5 x 3.5 inches). Shows expected signs of age including surface dust spots, light scratches, edge wear along the perimeters, and minor emulsion degradation near the upper corners, though the primary subject and guitar remain distinct with pleasing clarity; no major bends or severe plate damage observed. See photos for close-up details.
