Disaster Destruction First Nat'l Bank. Dating to the late 19th or early 20th century (c. 1890s–1900s), this compelling cabinet card style photograph captures the aftermath of a severe tornado or windstorm disaster in a frontier Western or Midwestern town, detailing extensive structural destruction, collapsed wooden buildings, horse-drawn wagons, and a prominent "First Nat'l Bank" building in the background. Mounted on an 8-by-10-inch thick cardstock board, the sepia-toned silver gelatin or albumen print is inscribed in pencil "Oak Line" along its lower front margin, offering outstanding display appeal as an unattributed primary-source artifact for collectors of early photojournalism, natural disaster ephemera, and frontier history.
