Book Litho Cover E Veale. This scarce late 19th-century Victorian children's booklet cover titled "Cock Robin and Other Stories" features vibrant chromolithograph artwork illustrated by celebrated artist Palmer Cox (1840–1924), world-famous creator of "The Brownies." Accompanied by stories written by E. Veale ("The Fairy Tales Authoress"), the whimsical cover depicts an anthropomorphic frog in a tall hat and red breeches holding a cattail banner alongside a horned owl perched on a branch, carrying strong collector appeal for enthusiasts of Palmer Cox, 19th-century children's literature, chromolithography, and antique illustrated ephemera. Published by Hubbard Publishing Co., copyrighted 1896, chromolithographed paper booklet cover, marked "By Palmer Cox Author of the Brownies" and "And E. Veale The Fairy Tales Authoress" alongside "Copyrighted 1896" at the bottom left margin, measures approximately 8 x 10.5 inches. Displays expected signs of age including subtle uniform paper toning, light edge creasing, faint corner softening, and minor handling wear, though the color lithography remains exceptionally vibrant, crisp, and displayable; no major tears, severe foxing, or loss of central printed illustration observed. See photos for close-up details.
