Book Litho Cover E Veale. This scarce late 19th-century Victorian children's booklet cover titled "Bonny Birds" features vibrant chromolithograph artwork illustrated by celebrated artist Palmer Cox (1840–1924), world-famous creator of "The Brownies." Featuring stories by E. Veale ("The Fairy Tales Authoress"), the whimsical cover depicts anthropomorphic birds including a dapper turkey in a topcoat and top hat alongside a dressed goose near a fence with an owl perched above, carrying strong collector appeal for enthusiasts of Palmer Cox, 19th-century children's literature, chromolithography, and antique illustrated ephemera. Published by Hubbard Publishing Co., copyrighted 1896, chromolithographed paper booklet cover, marked "Illustrations by Palmer Cox" and "Stories by E. Veale" alongside "Copyrighted by Hubbard Pub'g Co. 1896" at the bottom margin, measures approximately 8 x 10.5 inches. Displays expected signs of age including light paper toning, minor edge creasing, faint corner softening, and subtle handling wear, though the color lithography remains vivid, sharp, and highly displayable; no major tears, severe foxing, or loss of printed illustration observed. See photos for close-up details.
