Lone Fisherman JG Jones Jeweler Charlestown. This charming late 19th-century Victorian trade card features a striking black silhouette illustration titled "THE LONE FISHERMAN," depicting a stylishly dressed woman holding a fishing rod beneath a palm-like tree, complete with initialed artist artwork in the lower right negative plate mark. Overprinted along the lower front in red ink is a merchant advertisement stamp for "J. G. JONES, Jeweler, 341 MAIN ST. Cor. Eden, Opp. Monument Hall, Charlestown," promoting clocks, watches, jewelry, eyeglasses, and umbrella/parasol repairs. Victorian silhouette advertising cards featuring humor, sporting themes, or local merchant overstamps carry strong cross-over appeal for collectors of early American ephemera, Victorian trade cards, and Charlestown, Massachusetts regional history. Issued for J. G. Jones Jeweler (Charlestown, MA), estimated c. 1880s–1890s, woodcut/lithograph print on cardstock with red ink merchant stamp, captioned "THE LONE FISHERMAN" along the lower image margin, measures standard trade card size approximately 2.75 x 4.5 inches. Displays expected signs of age including subtle, uniform off-white paper toning, light corner softening, and minor surface wear, though the central silhouette graphic remains bold, sharp, and crisp with a clear, fully legible merchant stamp; no major tears, heavy creases, or pinholes observed. See photos for close-up details.
