Salesmen Autograph Book Baltimore 1890s. This fascinating turn-of-the-century leather-bound autograph and subscription ledger offers outstanding historic and localized ephemera appeal, used by a traveling salesman for The Century Dictionary and Cyclopedia. Top margins feature a printed endorsement quote attributed to Charles W. Eliot, President of Harvard University, while the interior pages are lined with period ink signatures, business addresses, and occupations of prominent Baltimore, Maryland citizens—including local attorneys, hat manufacturers, merchants, bankers, a physician, and executives like the President of the B&O Railroad. Unbranded/custom publisher ledger, c. 1890s–1900s, gilded pebbled leather binding with ruled paper ledger pages, printed header and manuscript ink signatures, measures approximately 4.5 x 9.5 inches. Displays expected signs of age including surface rubbing and scuffing to the leather spine and corners, slight gilt loss on the front cover, minor page toning, and light edge wear, though the binding remains intact and all ink manuscript signatures remain crisp and easily readable; no major tears, loose pages, or severe moisture staining observed. See photos for close-up details.
