AVAILABLE for SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > 24TH FORWARD ~ THE PICTORIAL HISTORY OF THE VICTORY DIVISION IN KOREA, a large-format hardcover photographic history of the U.S. Army 24th Infantry Division during the Korean War. Published in Tokyo in 1953 for the 24th Infantry Division and associated with editor Saul A. Stadtmauer, this substantial volume runs to about 300 pages and is extensively illustrated in black and white. The book documents the division’s Korean service from the opening fighting in July 1950 through its rotation out of Korea in January 1952, with combat photography, unit activities, artillery operations, infantry actions, prisoners, vehicles, command personnel and battlefield scenes. A specialist military-history collection describes the volume as including portraits and biographies of general officers together with an appendix covering Medal of Honor citations and illustrated actions. The 24th Infantry Division Association identifies 24th Forward as one of the division’s principal historical works and has preserved the full text online. The U.S. Army Military History Institute also catalogs the title as A Pictorial History of the Victory Division in Korea, published in Tokyo in 1953. The photographed pages show strong period content, including fire direction control with the 52nd Field Artillery Battalion, field artillery operations, front-line observation, Korean troops and prisoners, street fighting around Taejon, armored vehicles, and other combat imagery. The original black hardcover carries the dramatic gilt and red 24TH FORWARD design with outline map of Korea. CONDITION REPORT > Original hardcover binding shows expected age, shelf and handling wear with rubbing and wear to the gilt cover decoration and edges. Interior pages appear generally well preserved from the photographed examples, with numerous crisp black-and-white illustrations and text. Offered as pictured
