AVAILABLE FOR SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > Mixed group of vintage magic and novelty toys centered around The Klutz Book of Magic by John Cassidy and Michael Stroud, together with a boxed Magic 8 Ball, 3-D slide puzzle, magic ring-and-scarf trick, and two packaged Japanese Bambina children’s rhythm instruments. The Klutz Book of Magic is the spiral-bound Klutz Press edition originally published in 1989/1990, ISBN 0932592708 / 9780932592705. Bibliographic records identify the first edition as an 88-page instructional book presenting 31 magic tricks, originally packaged with props including a silk scarf, chrome ring and additional trick accessories. The present group includes a chrome ring and purple silk scarf consistent with the type of props supplied with the book. Also included is a boxed Magic 8 Ball by Mattel, the familiar fortune-telling novelty in which the user asks a question and turns the ball over to reveal an answer. Mattel identifies product No. 30188 as released in 1997. The group further includes a boxed 3-D Slide Puzzle, plus two sealed or packaged Bambina children’s rhythm instruments made in Japan: an Ocarina Duck, Stock No. 406, and a Castanet, Stock No. 405. Both retain original packaging and period retail price stickers. An appealing mixed lot for collectors of vintage magic, novelty toys, children’s activity books and Japanese educational rhythm instruments. CONDITION REPORT > Seemingly mint condition, retaining boxes and wraps.
