AVAILABLE FOR SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > Group of seven vintage carved wood bowls, combining six Philippine monkeypod wood bowls with one Australian Satin Sycamore bowl by Tolga Woodworks ~ All exhibit condition issues. Six PHILIPPINE MONKEYPOD WOOD BOWLS ~ Each measures 6" in diameter and 2" deep, with softly lobed floral-form rims and individual grain variation throughout. One example is marked underside MONKEY POD WOOD PHILIPPINES. The bowls reflect the mid- to later-20th-century tradition of Philippine carved monkeypod serving ware, widely exported for use as salad, snack, nut and individual serving bowls. One TOLGA WOODWORKS SATIN SYCAMORE BOWL ~ Measures 6.75" in diameter and stands 1.5" tall. Underside retains extensive original labeling identifying WOOD CRAFT ~ TOLGA WOODWORKS ~ Trevor & Annette Allwood ~ Tolga, Queensland, Australia, together with a separate label identifying the timber as Satin Sycamore and a Queensland promotional sticker reading WE MAKE IT GREAT IN THE SUNSHINE STATE. The group offers an appealing comparison of two distinct traditions of carved tropical and subtropical hardwood tableware, with the Philippine monkeypod bowls forming a coordinated serving set and the Australian bowl adding a separately documented regional maker and timber. CONDITION REPORT > Australian Satin Sycamore bowl has a notable vertical crack at one side ~ The monkey pod bowls exhibit multiple issues, abrasions, scratches, chips and more.
