Craftsman SAE Flex Head Socket Wrench Set of 6

Six Craftsman flex head socket and open end combination wrenches, the pattern the trade calls a Saltus wrench. Each tool has a twelve point socket on a swiveling head at one end and a conventional open end at the other, and each carries the raised Craftsman panel with the size stamped on the shank. The sizes are 3-8, 7-16, 1-2, 9-16, 5-8 and 3-4 inch. The hinged socket head is the whole point of the design. It lets the socket sit square on a nut that a straight wrench cannot reach and lets you swing the handle at whatever angle the work allows, which is why these turn up in the tool boxes of mechanics who work on engines and farm equipment. All six heads pivot freely and the sockets look clean inside with sharp points. Chrome is dull with light rust and old oil on the shanks and pivots. Nothing is bent or sprung. This is a complete graduated run. Condition is good. Authenticity and function have not been verified by Crawford Auction Service. Estimated Value: $30 to $50 based on comparable recent sales.
