Five pairs of slip joint pliers. Two are matching Blackhawk PT-1004 pliers made in USA, roughly eight inches long, with red plastic dipped handles. The three smaller pairs are bare chrome with no grips. One is marked XCELITE INC ORCHARD PARK N.Y. NO 76-5, one is marked GLOBEMASTER 4110, and the third carries only a DROP FORGED stamp. Slip joint pliers earn their name from the pivot that shifts between two positions, letting the same tool grip a small nut or a larger round fitting, and the serrated jaws with the side cutter at the hinge make them the general purpose pliers in most tool boxes. Jaws on all five close square and the serrations are still sharp enough to bite. The red handle dip on the Blackhawk pliers is cracked and peeling at the ends. Surface rust shows on the pivots and along the handles of all five pairs, heavier on the two unbranded examples. Condition is fair to good. Authenticity and function have not been verified by Crawford Auction Service. Estimated Value: $15 to $30 based on comparable recent sales. Sold as-is.
