Pacific Balance Beam Powder Scale with Brass Pan

A Pacific balance beam powder scale on a blue cast base, offered with its steel pan on the hanger and a second loose brass powder pan. The base plate reads Pacific with the Lincoln Nebraska address. The beam carries a main scale graduated to five hundred grains with the heavy poise, a sliding tenth grain vernier at the left end and a pointer riding over a fixed index. A magnetic damper sits under the beam to settle the pointer, and the knife edge bearings look intact. The leveling screw turns freely. Pacific built reloading gear in Nebraska before Hornady bought the line, and a beam scale never needs batteries and never drifts the way a cheap digital does. The blue paint has chips along the base edges and a few rust freckles, the beam shows light tarnish and the printed graduations are still sharp and readable. The scale was not calibrated or tested by Crawford Auction Service. Condition is very good. Authenticity and function have not been verified by Crawford Auction Service.
