Original Rebecca Crowell mixed-media abstract work titled “Cycle #1,” dated 2006. Wilde Meyer Gallery documentation identifies the work as mixed media and measures approximately 12” x 12”. The square composition features layered pale cream, yellow and warm orange tones with expressive scratched and incised linear markings and areas of richly worked surface texture. Crowell is an established American abstract artist with an MFA in Painting from Arizona State University and is known for her experimental approach to layered paint and cold wax medium, including scraping, gouging, burnishing and selectively removing material to expose underlying layers. The reverse is inscribed “Cycle #1 ©2006 Rebecca Crowell” and is fitted with hanging wire.
