Original 2011 mixed-media abstract painting by Simon Donovan, titled “Painting 15.” This substantial 23” x 23” work is constructed as a grid of individual rectangular and square sections, creating a patchwork-like abstract composition. Richly layered surfaces combine painted and distressed textures, collage elements, typography, crackle effects, and areas of translucent and metallic-looking coloration in ochre, red, deep green, turquoise, cream, and brown. The reverse is clearly inscribed “Simon Donovan 2011 ‘Painting 15.’” Finished with hanging wire and ready for display. See photos for full details.
