Brooches set with Pearls, Diamonds and Rubies .

4*4.15cm Wt:11.63g/4.06*4.07cm Wt:11g

Pair of Late-Victorian gold brooches modelled as flower-filled baskets. Open-work filigree basket bodies pav??-set with diamonds, decorated with three-dimensional chased rose-flower sprays and ribbon-bow motifs, suspending pearls from the base. The pair is gem-set asymmetrically: one brooch accented with pearls and diamonds; the second combines rubies, pearls and diamonds. Basket-and-floral motifs symbolised prosperity and well-wishes, characteristic of the Victorian-era Etruscan-Revival taste. Survivals retaining the original pair are rare and highly collectible. Open-work filigree intact, chased floral details crisp; all gemstones remain firmly set, overall in good preserved condition.

ALL PROPERTY IS SOLD AS IS, WHERE IS, WITH NO RETURNS OR CANCELLATIONS.

Additional photographs and condition reports may be provided upon request as a courtesy only.
