Archaeological Revival, Etruscan Revival 20K Gold Three-Dimensional Relief Brooch with Granulation and Filigree. <br><br>7.22*2.1cm Wt:15.7g<br><br>Mid-to-late 19th century, Late Victorian work Archaeological Revival style, Etruscan Revival taste. Shaped after the entablature of ancient Greek-Roman architecture. Subject: Temple of Poseidon-Neptune, God of the Sea. Mythic dolphins stand on either side, each holding a twin-looped urn in its mouth. Crafted with granulation and twisted wire filigree. Transcending flat surface to create three-dimensional relief effect. Bar brooch form. Main body: 20K gold; pin:15K gold. Cursive maker's mark "M.E.L." stamped on the verso.
