Foliage Brooch. 3.4*2.1cm Pearl diameter:8mm Wt:7.4g This is a work by Mario Buccellati. The brooch is composed of numerous uniquely shaped leaves and branches extending naturally outwards from the centre. The orientation and curve of each leaf are hand-modelled to recreate the relaxed posture of growing foliage. The leaves are finished with Buccellati's signature Segrinato stippled gold chasing technique, yielding a velvety matte texture that emulates the grain and lustre of real leaves, free from the rigid uniformity of mass production. An exquisite floral ornament sits atop the foliage, creating a threefold contrast in material, sheen and colour against the matte gold leaves. At the heart of the flower is a plump natural seawater pearl with mellow, soft orient, serving as the piece's visual focal point. Vintage and sophisticated, it suits a wide range of wearing occasions. The verso of the brooch bears stamps for M. Buccellati, 750 and the owl hallmark.
