A collection of fifteen vintage hair accessories and slides, comprising pieces in moulded plastic and iridescent mother-of-pearl. The group includes two pairs of curved side combs with wavy teeth. One pair is black plastic and is incised VALENTINA and PATENT PENDING to the upper edge; the other pair is in a mottled tortoiseshell-effect plastic. The hair pins consist of nine larger two-pronged pins with circular loop heads and wavy shafts in amber, brown, and tortoiseshell tones, alongside two smaller versions in brown and grey. The mother-of-pearl components include a rectangular slide with rounded corners and two horizontal slots, and a circular slide with a scalloped edge and two vertical slots. Dimensions (measured against a ruler): Side combs approx. 10 cm wide; Rectangular slide approx. 6.5 cm wide; Circular slide approx. 4.5 cm diameter; Large hair pins approx. 8 cm long; Small hair pins approx. 4.5 cm long. Condition: The collection is in good vintage condition. There is general age-related surface wear, including minor scuffing and fine scratches to the plastic surfaces. The mother-of-pearl pieces show natural variations. One tooth on a tortoiseshell-effect comb is slightly misshapen.
