An assortment of mid-20th-century costume jewellery and decorative clips, primarily in the Art Deco style. The collection includes multiple pairs of dress clips and one single large geometric clip, featuring fan, shield, and sunburst motifs set with clear glass rhinestones in round, baguette, and pear cuts. Several clips are stamped to the reverse with the patent number 1852188. A rhinestone festoon necklace is included, featuring a central pendant drop with stylised wing elements and faceted drops on a single strand of claw-set stones. The group further comprises a large oval openwork belt buckle with a foliate vine motif, a gold-tone crescent-shaped brooch set with five large rhinestones, and a silver-tone hinged scarf or cloak clip with internal teeth. Also present is a gold-tone metal clip featuring a corporate mark for R&P Coal, likely representing the Rochester & Pittsburgh Coal Company. Dimensions (measured against a ruler): Oval Buckle: W 6.5 cm Large Geometric Clip: L 4.7 cm Crescent Brooch: W 5.0 cm R&P Coal Clip: W 3.0 cm Dress Clips: L approx. 3.5 cm to 4.2 cm. Condition: The collection shows signs of age-related wear throughout. Several stones are missing, most notably from the oval buckle and smaller clips. Multiple rhinestones exhibit dullness, graying, or yellowing to the foil backing. There is visible tarnish, surface pitting, and wear to the plating on the white metal components, particularly to the reverse of the clips. The mechanical clips and pin-backs are functional.
