Dimension: 12 3/4"L Indo-Persian steel arm guard, historically known as a Bazu Band (or baju band), likely dating from the 18th to 19th century during the Mughal or Qajar periods. This piece of defensive armor was engineered to shield a warrior's forearm from the wrist to the elbow. The armor features a classic anatomical form, tapering from a wide, rounded extension designed to cover the elbow joint down to a narrower, curved cuff at the wrist. The main body consists of a single piece of heavy, forged steel plate. The entire exterior surface is densely covered in a beautiful Chiseled and Etched Arabesque Floral Motif. The design features symmetrical, interlocking cartouches or medallions packed with dense leaves, repeating vines, and blooming flowers typical of Islamic decorative arts.
