Ornate antique centerpiece center bowl (compote) combining porcelain, cut crystal, and gilt metal (ormolu) elements, likely dating back to the 19th century. The design is highly characteristic of European decorative arts, blending neoclassical and rococo revival themes. Dimension: 11"H x 9 1/2"W. At the top sits a wide, shallow, diamond-patterned cut crystal bowl with a scalloped or notched rim, designed to catch and reflect light. Encased in the center is a finely painted porcelain figurine featuring two cherubs (putti) or classical children in an pastoral setting. One cherub holds a garland of colorful flowers, while a small lamb stands tucked beside them. The soft pastel glazes and delicate features suggest a style similar to Meissen, Sevres, or Capodimonte porcelain. The upper structure is supported by three twisted or spiral-fluted clear glass columns with ornate gilt-bronze caps and bases, creating a grand, architectural canopy over the porcelain centerpiece. The piece rests on a heavy, scalloped gilt-metal base featuring elaborate scrollwork feet (rocaille motifs). The bottom interior is lined with a molded glass panel that matches the architectural curvature of the frame.
