Classic mid-century Coca-Cola bottle vending machine by Cavalier Corporation, Chattanooga, Tennessee, model C-55D, serial 375816, retaining its bold red cabinet, illuminated-style “Drink Coca-Cola” upper advertising panel, gold-tone coin-control panel, chrome trim, bottle opener, change return, dispensing opening, and side advertising reading “things go better with Coke.” The original 10-cent instruction panel directs the customer to deposit a dime, two nickels, or a quarter and receive change below. Manufacturer plate identifies the machine as Cavalier model C-55D, 115 volt, 60 cycle A.C., using F-12 refrigerant. These compact 55-bottle Cavalier machines were produced for commercial locations where a smaller footprint was desirable. A key is present. Condition shows age-appropriate scuffs, scratches, finish wear, discoloration, oxidation, and general commercial-use wear throughout; functionality needs work. Measures 61.75"H x 23"W x 16.5"D.
