Pair of elegant Louis XVI style side chairs featuring carved hardwood frames with shaped upholstered backs, fluted tapered front legs, and molded seat rails. Each chair is upholstered in mustard-gold velvet to both the seat and back, with one chair having an oval back and the other a shaped shield-style back, giving the pair a complementary but not identical appearance. The frames retain a warm brown finish with restrained carved detailing. Upholstery shows visible age and use including staining, discoloration, spotting, surface marks, and wear, while the wood frames show scattered scuffs, scratches, and finish wear consistent with age. Measure 37.75"H x 20"W x 18"D and 36.75"H x 20"W x 18"D with seat heights of 18" tall.
