Vintage Carved Pedestal Round Dining Table

Vintage traditional dining table, likely late 20th century, featuring a substantial circular-to-oval extension top in a warm medium-brown finish with attractive figured wood grain and a smoothly molded edge. The top separates at the center to accommodate an extension leaf, allowing the table to expand for additional seating. Beneath, the table is supported by a handsome pedestal base with boldly carved, fluted urn-form standards rising from sculptural four-part supports; each base terminates in sweeping cabriole-form legs embellished with carved foliate and acanthus decoration and tightly curled scroll feet. The overall design draws from Georgian, Regency, and Federal Revival furniture traditions, particularly the use of turned pedestal supports and downswept carved legs seen on formal dining tables of the 19th century and later revival periods. Condition is good overall with scattered scratches, light surface wear, minor finish variation, and small abrasions to the top and base consistent with age and household use; more noticeable finish loss and abrasions are present on at least one carved scroll foot, while the table otherwise appears substantially complete and structurally sound in the photographs.
