Late 19th-century mahogany whatnot or display stand featuring three graduated open shelves supported by spiral and bobbin-turned posts. The upper section is fitted with an arched mirror framed by a carved crest with scrolling foliate ornament, giving the piece a decorative parlor-furniture appearance. The shaped shelf fronts and turned supports add visual interest while retaining a light, open form suitable for displaying decorative objects. The piece shows scattered scratches, scuffs, finish wear, small nicks, dust, and age-related surface marks; the mirror also shows spotting and wear consistent with age. Measures 49"H x 30"W x 14"D.
