luminous pastoral river landscape captures the warmth of a setting sun as it reflects across calm water, drawing the eye toward a picturesque village dominated by a tall church tower in the distance. Painted in oil on canvas, the composition is enriched with mature trees framing the foreground, a winding riverside path, softly modeled clouds, and warm touches of autumn color throughout the foliage, while the broad reflective waterway creates a strong sense of depth and atmosphere. Signed “R. Andrews” in gold at the lower right. The work appears consistent with an early-to-mid 20th century decorative landscape tradition; while artists named R. Andrews are recorded, the signature alone does not permit a confident attribution to a particular listed artist.
