Unusual 19th-century bronze door knob set featuring a pair of rounded knobs joined by their original threaded iron spindle, each knob centered by a decorative clock-face medallion with raised Roman numerals and hands. The aged bronze surfaces retain a rich brown patina with darker oxidation and traces of verdigris around the clock-face details, lending the hardware strong architectural and decorative character. The spindle and collar fittings show oxidation from age and use, while the knobs exhibit scattered scuffs, scratches, small dents, spotting, and general surface wear consistent with long service. A distinctive piece of antique architectural hardware with particularly appealing novelty clock-face decoration. Measures 6.5" Long.
