An exceptional presentation of Toronto Blue Jays history, Les Tait's 1991 "Pitcher Perfect" captures legendary franchise ace Dave Stieb, No. 37, standing alone on the mound beneath the soaring tiers and packed grandstands of Toronto's then-new SkyDome. Executed as part of Tait's celebrated series of Blue Jays sporting images, the composition transforms a familiar baseball moment into a commanding architectural portrait of player, ballpark and era, placing Stieb against the immense scale of the stadium that defined a transformative period in Toronto baseball.

The limited-edition print is hand-numbered 895/950 at lower left, boldly signed in pencil by Dave Stieb at lower center and signed by artist Les Tait at lower right. An embossed Simon Art Ltd. Limited Edition Certificate of Authenticity seal appears within the lower margin, providing an additional period publisher's authentication element. Simon Art Ltd. of Toronto is documented as the publisher of Tait's 1991 Blue Jays series, which included "Pitcher Perfect" among its player-signed limited-edition works.

Stieb occupies a singular position in Toronto Blue Jays history. Over 15 seasons with the club, he became the franchise career leader in wins, innings pitched, strikeouts, games started, shutouts and complete games, represented Toronto in seven American League All-Star Games, and on September 2, 1990 threw the first and still only no-hitter in Blue Jays franchise history. His achievements ultimately earned him induction onto the Toronto Blue Jays Level of Excellence. The present work was issued in the immediate aftermath of that historic no-hitter, giving its depiction of Stieb at SkyDome particular resonance as a period tribute to the pitcher at the height of his stature in Toronto baseball.

The work is housed in a substantial custom presentation under glass, surrounded by broad charcoal matting with blue and white accent borders and finished in a moulded black frame. A period Dave Stieb Toronto Blue Jays baseball card is incorporated into the lower-left mat, further strengthening the display as a dedicated Stieb memorabilia presentation. The unusually tall composition, crowded SkyDome interior and solitary figure of Stieb create considerable visual impact when displayed, while the combination of player autograph, artist signature, individually numbered edition, Simon Art Ltd. authentication embossment and integrated baseball card gives the piece broad crossover interest for collectors of Dave Stieb memorabilia, Toronto Blue Jays collectibles, signed MLB baseball memorabilia, vintage Canadian sports art, SkyDome memorabilia and autographed limited-edition prints.

Custom framed under glass; overall frame dimensions 41 1/2" x 21". The work presents attractively with strong colour and clear signatures. No major damage is apparent, but bot examined out of frame.
