An antique gold-tone pocket watch chain w/ postal-themed charms, styled as a single-Albert fob chain. Worked in elongated hand-linked fetter-style flattened oval and figure-eight links, terminating in a period swivel dog-clip clasp on one end (spring clip that attaches to a pocket watch bow) and a fixed jump ring hung w/ two postal charms on the other. First charm: a barrel skeleton key stamped ‘U.S. MAIL’ on the round bow — a period USPS street letter box or mailbag key issued to postal workers to open drop boxes, mailbags, and post office equipment. Second charm: a miniature gold-tone mail pouch figural, modeled as a flat leather-look postal pouch w/ beaded top trim and a hinged flap w/ suspension ring — hinged in construction, may open as a small locket-style compartment (mechanism untested). No karat marks visible on the chain or charms in the provided images; presents as period gold-filled or rolled gold plate consistent w/ early 20th c. American production. Chain 11.5 in. overall from swivel clip to charm ring. Weight 25g. Shows expected wear w/ brassing and darker tarnish patina in the recesses; swivel dog clip functional; no broken links or missing components visible in the provided images; mail pouch charm opening mechanism untested. All items are sold as-is.
