Vintage Yale & Towne brass railroad padlock made specifically for the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway Mechanical Department. Front is prominently marked "MADE FOR C.&O. MECH DEPT." surrounding the raised Yale logo. Shackle is marked Yale & Towne and Made in U.S.A. Includes key as shown. Tested and working with the included key. Heavy brass construction with surface wear, scratches and patina consistent with age and railroad service. Mid-20th century railroad era. A desirable departmental railroad lock with strong Chesapeake & Ohio identification and working key.
