Original Illinois Central Railroad Police badge marked "POLICE 1125 ILL. CENT. R.R." Six-point star form with raised lettering and ball-tip points. Reverse retains the original-style pin and catch assembly as shown. Measures approximately 2.5 inches high x 2.5 inches wide. An especially desirable Illinois Central Railroad police collectible. A documented Illinois Central Police badge numbered 1126 is known in this same style and has been identified as a 1940s-era badge, placing this consecutively numbered 1125 example in a very interesting historical context. Shows surface wear, scratches and patina consistent with age and service. Consignor represents this badge as original.
