An exotic and highly compelling piece of Asian colonial numismatics, this bronze 2 Pai coin was issued by the legendary Princely State of Hyderabad during the height of the British Raj. As the largest and wealthiest princely state in undivided India, Hyderabad maintained the rare privilege of minting its own sovereign currency, independent of standard British imperial coinages, under the rule of its famous Nizams.
