Pair of glazed ceramic ashtrays modeled as curled-toe slippers, each with a raised loop handle at the toe and a textured, bumpy pinecone/scale surface covering the upper portion, finished in a mottled green glaze that darkens in the crevices. This pinecone-textured majolica style is associated with Italian and Southern European decorative pottery traditions, though no maker's mark is visible on the unglazed base, so a specific origin isn't confirmed. Measures H: 2", W: 3", L: 4.5" each. A charming and whimsical decorative pair of figural ashtrays. Condition Report: Good vintage condition, wear commensurate with age. No chips or cracks to the glazed surfaces. The unglazed clay base shows expected firing marks and dark residue consistent with age; one dish shows a small line/crack running through the unglazed foot area. Keywords: Majolica pottery, pinecone pottery, ceramic ashtray, green glazed pottery, Italian style majolica, figural ashtray, slipper ashtray, ashtray pair, vintage ceramic ashtray, whimsical pottery, textured glaze pottery Dimensions: H: 2", W: 3", L: 4.5"
