Vintage 1897 Elgin National Watch Co. grade 109 model 1 mechanical open-face pocket watch featuring a small 0-size base metal top case with an interior caseback stamped with the signature "Illinois WATCH CASE CO. ELGIN TIVOLI" brand trademark crest alongside case serial number 4770358. The outer back cover showcases a highly decorative Greek key geometric column pattern with an integrated oval monogram cartouche panel holding crisp, personalized cursive initials reading "O.F.B." The original white porcelain enamel dial showcases painted black Roman numeral hour counters, an outer minutes track ring with small Arabic five-minute interval markers from 5 to 60, gold-tone spade-style hands, and elegant cursive brand script reading "Elgin Nat'l. Watch Co."
