FRUIT HEAVEN CHARACTER JAR.
Height:18cm (7.09in) , Diameter:16cm (6.30in) Classic imperial Chenghua covered ??Tian?? jar, with short neck, full shoulders and rounded tapering body, surmounted by a knobbed lid. The exterior painted in dou?cai palette: a powerful blue?underglaze dragon winds among intertwined melon vines, fruits and foliage filled with green and yellow overglaze enamels. Neck and lower body framed by iron?red lotus?petal bands in neat registers. Lid decorated with sea?beasts amid waves, knob highlighted in yellow enamel. White?glazed base bears single underglaze?blue character mark ??Tian??. Chenghua dou?cai ??Tian?? jars are extremely rare; dragon?and?melon theme is particularly uncommon, executed with fine brushwork and soft luminous glazes, standing as supreme achievement of Ming imperial dou?cai porcelain.

ALL PROPERTY IS SOLD AS IS, WHERE IS, WITH NO RETURNS OR CANCELLATIONS.

Additional photographs and condition reports may be provided upon request as a courtesy only.
