After Toyohara Kunichika (Japanese, 1835-1900) lithograph, depicting a mother holding her child as she writes with her mouth, from the Kabuki play "Ashiya doman Ouchi Kagami," matted behind glass in as simple black frame with gold painted accent. With expected signs of light wear, some toning to paper, light scratches to frame. Overall measures 25 1/4" h. x 18 1/2" w.; ss: 20" h. x 13 1/4" w.
