Avon after shave bottle molded as an oversized Buffalo Nickel and finished in a silvered, mercury-glass style. One face carries the Native American profile with LIBERTY and the date 1913; the reverse shows the standing buffalo with UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM and FIVE CENTS. The ribbed silver-tone screw cap is present and seats properly. The paper label on the base reads Avon, WILD COUNTRY AFTER SHAVE, 5 FL. OZ., AVON PRODUCTS, INC., NEW YORK, and it is intact and readable. The silvered finish shows loss and dark mottling around the base and light rubbing on the raised high points; the glass is free of chips and cracks. Overall good condition. The 1913 date is not random - that was the first year the Buffalo Nickel was struck, and the coin's fame is a large part of why this bottle still sells. Sold as-is.
