Rose-Garland Pearl Festoon 18K Gold Necklet.

Chain Length:42.5cm Wt:14.3g
Entirely hand?crafted in 18K gold, modelled in high?relief scrolling floral motifs. The graceful contours of the gold blossoms evoke a garden glistening with morning dew, embodying everlasting romance. Hand?hammered golden flowers and twisting vines unfurl freely, illustrating Art Nouveau's signature ??aesthetic of curves??. Designed in a festoon drapery structure originating from ancient Greek festive garlands, this form was widely re?imagined during the French Art Nouveau period. Tiered fine chains hang down, light and airy to wear and softening the heaviness of metal. Created for gala evenings, salons and bridal finery, it follows the curve of the collarbone. The floral elements shift gently with bodily movement. Complete antique eagle?head hallmarks are struck.

ALL PROPERTY IS SOLD AS IS, WHERE IS, WITH NO RETURNS, REFUNDS, OR CANCELLATIONS.

Condition and Authenticity:

Any statement in the catalogue, condition report, photographs, video, invoice, or other written or oral communication regarding the origin, date, age, attribution, authorship, authenticity, provenance, material, condition, or estimated selling price of any lot is a statement of opinion only.
