VINTAGE CLEAR PRESSED GLASS THREE-TOED SWIRL BOWL - 10" SCALLOPED PETAL SERVING / CENTERPIECE BOWL A large vintage clear pressed glass serving bowl in the classic mid-century heavy swirl design, standing on three molded ball feet. The whole body is molded in a spiraling swirl that radiates from the center and breaks the rim into soft petal-like scallops, giving the piece a flower-blossom silhouette. A single piece, sold as one bowl. Description Round three-toed (tri-footed) low bowl in heavy clear pressed glass Measures approximately 10" in diameter and approximately 3-1/4" tall at the rim per the tape-measure photos; bidders should verify dimensions from the photographs Swirled, spiraling rib panels sweep from the center out to a fully scalloped petal rim Underside center is molded with a crisp daisy/sunburst rosette surrounding a smooth polished circle Three applied-look molded ball feet, evenly spaced, all present and intact No maker's mark, backstamp, or label is present anywhere on the piece Attribution note The heavy swirl body with scalloped petal rim and three-toed foot is the look most associated with Fostoria's "Colony" pattern (No. 2412), a heavy pressed crystal line Fostoria produced from 1940 to 1973 and built partly from its older Queen Anne pattern, and Colony is catalogued as "Stem 2412, Clear, Heavy Swirl Pattern," 1940-1973. Because this bowl is unmarked, no maker attribution is claimed or guaranteed here - very similar tri-footed clear swirl bowls were produced by multiple American pressed-glass makers and turn up regularly as unmarked mid-century pieces. Bidders wanting a firm pattern ID should study the photographs and satisfy themselves before bidding. Condition Used vintage condition, sold as-is. The bowl presents clean and bright in the photographs with good clarity and no cloudiness. Expect light surface scratching and utensil marks in the well, minor mold-line roughness and small mold seams typical of pressed glass, and light wear to the three feet from setting on hard surfaces. No chips, cracks, or bruises were observed in the photographs, but this is an older glass piece and bidders should examine every photo closely and satisfy themselves as to condition.
