CLEAR PRESSED GLASS SQUARE FLARED VASE / CANISTER - APPROX. 9in TALL WITH EMBOSSED PATENT-STYLE MARKING ON THE BASE Heavy clear pressed glass square vase in a striking hourglass silhouette - wide flared rim, gently waisted body, and a flared square foot. A versatile piece that works as a flower vase, a utensil or kitchen crock, a bathroom or desk caddy, or a display container. Form and detail Square four-sided form with softly rounded corners and a subtle inward taper at the waist, flaring back out at both the rim and the base Broad, applied-look collar rim with a stepped double edge; the interior forms a plain square well with a thick, heavy bottom Body left plain and undecorated so the glass reads clean and modern despite the traditional shape Underside molded with a raised rectangular cartouche and beaded/ribbed borders on all four sides Measurements (approximate, from the tape-measure photos) Approx. 9in tall Approx. 3-1/2in square across the outside of the rim Interior well roughly 3in square; heavy for its size with a thick base All measurements are approximate - bidders should verify from the photographs Marks Molded lettering inside the cartouche on the underside, faint and only partially legible in the photographs. No maker name, pattern name, or country of origin is visible on the piece Important note on the marking: reproduction glass is routinely produced from new molds that copy original patent dates and other period markings, so an embossed patent date alone does not establish age. Because of this, the piece is offered without any age or maker attribution - bidders should form their own opinion from the photographs. Collectors dating pressed glass also look at mold seams, base finish, and glass character rather than the embossed date alone. Condition Good pre-owned condition, sold as-is. No chips, cracks, or repairs observed in the photographs. Expect light surface scuffing and faint scratching consistent with handling and shelf use, minor mold lines and small trapped bubbles inherent to pressed glass production rather than damage, and a faint water or mineral haze visible in the interior well in some photos. A small remnant of an old paper label or sticker is visible in one photo. Photos are part of the description - please review all images closely before bidding. Terms Sold as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied. All sales final. Please ask any questions before bidding. Buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping arrangements per auction terms; this is a heavy glass item and requires careful packing.
