284a. First of a lot of 2: Ludwig Loewe Model 1895 Chilean Mauser. Serial # C6848. 7mm Mauser caliber bolt action carbine with a 29-1/2” barrel. The bore is fair to good, dirty with good rifling and moderate fouling/frosting in the grooves. It may clean better. Made by Ludwig Loewe in Germany for Chile prior to 1896. The blued arsenal finish on the barrel and receiver is in good condition showing edge wear with scratches and scattered light freckling. The receiver crest is sharp. The walnut stock and handguard are in very good military condition showing scattered dings and scratches along with finish wear from military use. Well struck stock cartouche on the left side of the butt. The barrel bands show some rust. The rifle appears to be all matching including the cleaning rod, but the bolt is missing. Does not appear to be import marked. Steel but tplate. The action works fine. 284b. Second of a lot of 2: Spandau Model 71/84. Serial # 6414. 11x60Rmm caliber bolt action rifle with a 31-1/2” barrel. The bore is excellent, clean with strong rifling. Made in Germany, the receiver dated 1886. The rifle appears to be all matching, but the bolt is missing. The blued metal finish on the barrel is in fair to good condition showing light edge wear with a covering of light to moderate rust. The metal finish on the receiver and barrel bands is mostly a brown patina with light rust. The blued metal finish on the trigger guard shows heavy rust. The plain walnut military stock is in very good condition showing dings and scratches with finish wear. The Imperial proofs on the stock are present. The sling swivels on the butt stock and trigger guard are missing. The action seems functional, but as mentioned, the bolt is missing.
