281a. First of a lot of 2: Remington Model M-1867 Danish No. 1 Rolling Block Military Rifle. Serial # 62020. 11.7x42R mm caliber single shot rifle with a 35” barrel. The bore is excellent, mostly clean with strong rifling with some light fouling in the grooves. Danish Rolling Block rifles were originally chambered in 11x41.5 RF but were later converted to centerfire. This rifle has been converted. The metal finish on the barrel and barrel bands is in fair condition, it is mostly a brown patina with scratches with heavy rust at the muzzle end. There is a bayonet lug on the right side of the barrel. The metal finish on the receiver is in the white with a gold-ish patina along with scattered patches of rust. The hardwood forearm are in fair to good military condition showing dings, scratches and finish wear. The butt stock is missing. Original military sights. The action works fine. Includes the cleaning rod. Danish Rolling Block rifles were in front line service from 1867-1888, but remained in military service until 1940.
