R Serial # 538868. .38 WCF (.38-40 Win.) caliber lever action rifle with a 24” round barrel. The bore is excellent, mostly clean with strong rifling with some light fouling. Made in 191. Full length magazine tube. The blued metal finish on the barrel is in fair good condition showing muzzle wear and thinning along with scratches and scattered light freckling; the finish is taking on a brown patina. The blued metal finish on the magazine tube is in good condition showing edge wear with scattered fine scratches and scattered light rust. There is a dent at mid-length. The metal finish on the receiver and lever is a brownish gray patina showing edge wear and scratches with older cleaned rust. The plain walnut forearm and the matching butt stock are in good condition showing scattered dings and scratches with light finish wear. The crescent steel butt plate is mostly a gray patina with dark patches of older cleaned rust. Original front and rear sights. The action does not work properly; the hammer will not cock.
