Wards Westernfield Model No. 47A

R Serial # NSN. .22 Sh-L-LR bolt action rifle with a 24” barrel. The bore is very good to excellent, clean with strong rifling. Full length magazine tube. Made by Mossberg for Montgomery Ward, it is similar to the Model 45A which only made in 1937-1938. The blued metal finish on the barrel and receiver is in good condition showing light edge wear and scratches with a scattered light surface rust. The magazine tube is mostly a brown patina with scattered patches of light rust. The black painted trigger guard shows chipping and edge wear. The plain walnut stock is in good to very good condition showing scattered dings and scratches with light finish wear. Grooved steel butt plate. Original front and rear sights. Original swivels. The action works fine. Includes a Mossberg No. 4 Receiver mounted peep sight. C&R.
