One pair of framed needlepoint pictures executed in the style of Berta Hummel. The needlework is worked in wool yarn using a tent stitch on a blue ground. One panel depicts a young boy in Alpine dress, including lederhosen, a hat with a feather, and a backpack. The companion panel features a girl in a dirndl holding a leafy branch. Both needlepoints are housed behind glass in square wooden frames with a textured grain-effect moulding and a gold-coloured gilded finish. Condition: The needlework panels are well-preserved and free of apparent fading or damp staining. The wooden frames show age-related wear, including minor abrasions and small chips to the gilded finish, most notably at the mitred corners. The brown paper backing on the reverse of each frame is stained and shows some tearing. Modern sawtooth metal hangers have been fitted for display.
