A sepia-toned silver gelatin photograph depicting sixteen women in formal academic robes and high-collared attire, likely a graduating class. The print is mounted to a brown textured mat board which bears numerous handwritten inscriptions in ink identifying the subjects as Isabel Mason, Helen Macmurchie, Ruth Kirkby, Dorothy H. Kilpatrick, Dora Hughington, Rosalind Rowan, Marjorie E. Hacket, Frances A. Good, Elsie L. Keith, R. Robertson, Evelyn L. Carrie, Mrs. Abbott, Frances Robinson, Rose J. McQueen, Miss Harvey, Elsie Affleck, and Olive Logie. An embossed blindstamp, possibly a photographer's mark, is located in the lower right corner of the mat. The photograph is housed in a dark-stained wood frame; the reverse retains a label for Artistic Picture Framing, Etc., T. Eaton Co. Limited, Toronto, Canada, with handwritten reference numbers 574 and No. 68087. Dimensions (measured from frame): H 21 cm x W 41.6 cm Dimensions (photograph): H 8.9 cm x W 29.2 cm. Condition: The photograph shows a significant vertical crease to the left of centre, overall fading, and scattered surface scuffs. The mat board exhibits light foxing, minor staining, and edge wear. The frame has surface abrasions and the reverse dust cover is torn.
