This large rectangular serving tray is constructed of silver plate over a base metal, likely brass or copper. Executed in a Rococo Revival style, the piece features a wide, scalloped rim decorated with high-relief cast scrolling foliage and shell motifs. The two side handles are elaborately pierced with matching foliate and shell designs. The flat interior surface is densely decorated with chased scrolling acanthus leaves and floral patterns, centered around a blank rectangular cartouche intended for a monogram. The tray is supported by four corner feet and a single central support foot, each fitted with protective pads. The underside of the tray is stamped with an eagle symbol, followed by the characters WM ROGERS, a star symbol, and the model number 816.Length: 18.5 inchesBody Length: 15.5 inchesWidth: 12.5 inchesThe tray is in fair overall condition, exhibiting significant tarnishing and surface oxidation across all surfaces.
