Vintage wooden runner sled with a steering crossbar. Deck is hardwood slats with black pinstriping. The center slat is stenciled in red with a script logo reading Champion plus larger block letters that appear to read Trail-Blaster. The paint on that slat is worn to bare wood across much of the lettering, so study the close ups and judge the name for yourself. Runners are formed steel painted bright red, five cross braces, turned up ends. The front steering bar is shaped wood with a rope pull cord through both ends. Full length belly flopper sled, not a child toy. Condition is fair with real damage. Close ups show a split, chipped cross brace on the underside where the runner bracket bolts through, another slat broken and splintered at a bracket, and a gouge or old worm damage in one side rail. Red paint is chipped to bare metal in many places, wood is dry. Decorator sled or restoration project, not one to put a child on. Authenticity has not been verified by Crawford Auction Service. Estimated Value: $25 to $50 based on comparable recent sales. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot. Written descriptions are a guide only and may contain errors.
