Hand blown Murano art glass folded bowl in amber and orange. The original silver foil label is still stuck to the underside and reads WHITE CRISTAL, then THE ARTWORK IS DONE ACCORDING TO THE TECHNIQUE OF THE MASTERS, then MURANO in English and Italian, and finally HAND MADE IN ITALY. Part of the label is torn away but every line is still readable. The glass is a warm amber and orange body with a swirled interior and a heavy scatter of dark brown and near black spots rolled into the surface, the technique Murano houses call macchie. The rim is pulled up on two sides and folded down on the others, and the color deepens to bright orange along the folded edges. It measures roughly eleven inches long, about eight inches across, and about seven inches tall at the high points. The base is smooth and flat where the pontil was ground down. Condition is very good with no chips, no cracks, and no bruises found, only light shelf wear. Authenticity has not been verified by Crawford Auction Service. Estimated Value: $20 to $35 based on comparable recent sales. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot. Written descriptions are a guide only and may contain errors.
