Speed Limit 40 Aluminum Road Sign

Metal road sign reading SPEED LIMIT 40 in black letters on a white background with a thin black border and rounded corners. Roughly 12 inches wide by 16 to 18 inches tall, with a hang hole in each of the four corners rather than the centered top and bottom post holes used on highway signs. That corner hole pattern, along with the plain non-reflective white face, tells you this is a decorative reproduction road sign made for wall hanging and not an official highway sign meant for public roadway use. Do not buy this expecting a retired department of transportation sign. The back is bare brushed aluminum with no printing, no part number and no maker mark visible in any photo. Condition is very good with a clean bright face, sharp black lettering, no rust, no dents and only light handling marks and a small scratch on the back. Aluminum does not rust, which is why the back still looks fresh. Estimated Value: $10 to $20 based on comparable recent sales. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot.
